  • Effective teachers see, understand, and communicate with precision.

  • They guide learning through clear instruction, strong observation, and an ability to adapt their language so every student can access the movement.

    So dancers feel capable and confident because they understand what to do and how to improve = Awareness

2. Grit

  • Effective teachers structure learning in a way that develops skill over time.

  • They create consistent, progressive challenges that teach self-discipline with application of corrections and adjustments, persistence in that application, and then a sense of earned achievement.

    So dancers become resilient, self-motivated, and confident in their ability to grow = Grit

3. Grace

  • Effective teachers foster trust, connection, and psychological safety. 

  • They balance correction with encouragement and support both the technical and human experience of the dancer.

    So dancers feel secure, expressive, and confident in who they are, not just how they perform or what they achieve: marks in exams or awards in performance.

    It is the effort that counts and shows the learning through the journey is valuable = Grace
