Meet Sheahan
Dance EDUCATOR
SPEAKER
INTERNATIONAL BALLET EXAMINER
Dance is not “just a hobby.”
it builds skills that support your health, your mind, and your future.
When you dance, you develop skills that carry into every part of life you choose to explore. Skills such as:
discipline
awareness
resilience
confidence
Combining over 35 years in the dance community, with my experience as a registered massage and lymph drainage therapist, along with my Masters thesis research themes, I guide dancers, educators, and studio communities in developing:
Self-care skills and body awareness
Consistency, perseverance, and grit
Breath, posture, presence, and grace
Autonomy alongside teamwork
This is about nurturing capable, resilient individuals who have a deep love and respect for the value of the arts and dance.
Through classes and speaking engagements, I help dancers grow, educators lead with clarity, and studio owners communicate the true value of dance to the families they serve.
hi, i’m
Sheahan Keinick
Most people know me as Ms. Shea. I am a dance educator.
I help dancers hone their craft technically, artistically, and with self-care practices.
I help dancers become teachers.
I help dance teachers and studio owners demonstrate to parents, and the public, the lifelong benefits of dance education.
Over my 35+ years of teaching dance I have watched many dedicated dancers be encouraged or pressured to quit to follow more ‘traditional’ life paths.
However, after completing my MA research and talking to many others like me who see the long term success plan woven into each dance class, I have become a strong advocate for the arts and how dance creates lifelong tools for success with the 3 pillars of:
Awareness, Grit,and Grace.
A Few Fun Facts About Sheahan
I love to walk and hike with my kids and my golden retriever Jasper
I love adventure. I have jumped out of an airplane skydiving, conquered New Zealand’s highest bungee, spent 9 days ocean kayaking off the coast of BC, canoed the Bowron Lakes, hiked the Rockwall in Kootenay National Park, and enjoy backcountry camping.
One of my favourite sounds is the birds in the morning, a soft running stream, and the sound of the canoe paddle dipping in the water.
